Tell me, what is it you
plan to do with
your one wild
and precious life?

Hello!

So nice of you to drop in… let me tell you a bit about myself.
I was born in Yorkshire, England as part of a large unruly family full of love and laughter with a very creative mother (sadly passed). That’s probably where I learned to love baking cakes, bread, pies – it’s a wonder I’m not the size of a small semi-detached house!
After almost 20 years living in London, I moved out into the country and now enjoy the wide open spaces of Lincolnshire.

My previous 30 year career as a fashion and interior designer/writer meant I travelled the world extensively, soaking up the diverse cultures, colours and inspiration. But then, in 2020 I was furloughed from my job. I got out my paints to fill the time, and that was the beginning of my journey of discovery.

I had always been artistic and sitting at my easel every day during that bloody awful pandemic brought home to me how precious this time we have on earth is – and how important it is to follow the clues that life shows us. It is summed up beautifully in the last line of a poem by Mary Oliver: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

My art is inspired by the amazing and the ordinary

Working largely in acrylic, I paint intuitively. My still life paintings, abstract landscapes and florals are a joyful, textural, atmospheric reflection of places and spaces that I love, featuring vibrant, energetic brush strokes and multi-layered passages of collage, paint, ink, charcoal.

When I paint it’s from a place of wonder that I long to share. If my art can evoke feelings of joy, peace, excitement and curiosity in you, then I will have truly succeeded.
