A Place In The Sun
Inspired by one of the gorgeous little French Bistro chairs that we brought back from a trip to Provence many moons ago, and the pots of geraniums that I brought into the house before the frosts got to them – this impressionistic painting was painted on a cold but gloriously sunny day. It is a textural delight in mark-making. Dabs of exquisitely vibrant red, coral and orange create the impression of the petals glowing in the sunshine.
ACRYLIC, OIL PASTEL AND CHARCOAL ON A CRADLED WOOD PANEL
Set in a St Ives frame (painted in Farrow & Ball Strong White) measuring 54 × 39cm (Artwork is 45 × 30cm)
