THIS FEELS LIKE ESCAPE TO ME
This feels like escape to me!
When emotions run high, I turn to paint.
I particularly loved the long elegant fingers of a particular fern growing on my kitchen windowsill, and used it in many ways, including collage, stencil and ink. As it wraps itself around my painting, like a protective shield, I am healed.
Layers of collage, overlaid with acrylic, inks, stencilling and pen work. This painting will work well in both contemporary and classic settings.
Set in a beautiful white St Ives frame it measures 58.5 x 58.5cm (unframed art measures: 41 x 41cm)
MIXED MEDIA ACRYLIC

Painted in rich shades of green and teal, with a touch of golden yellow, this piece is multi-layered and full of intrigue, compelling you to look closer. It started life completely intuitively, which is the way I start all of my work, with mark-making and a limited colour palette. The long-fingered leaves of a fern that grows on my kitchen windowsill was the inspiration and is incorporated in many ways, including collage, gelli-printing and drawn in ink.
