I always start off with intuitive painting, and in this case, using a predominantly pink and red palette to create a warm abstract background. The inspiration was my garden which is a riot of pink blooms from early to late summer. Japanese anemones are one of my favourites because they flower later when many others have died down, keeping the pink theme going. Picking them out in white ensures the lively shapes take centre stage. Hang together with ‘English Rose’ and ‘Rudbeckia’ for a perfectly pretty display of floral art that will grace both modern and classic settings. The framed picture measures 33.5 x 33.5cm.
