Honesty
I don’t ever remember planting honesty in my garden, but they arrived a few years ago, and now pop up in the borders from time to time – but aren’t they gorgeous in their simplicity? Especially when placed in a shapely modern vase like the one in this still life painting.
I love the whimsical pairing of these beautiful wild seed heads with the straight lines of the collaged stripy mug, and lemons for a pop of acid bright colour.
ACRYLIC, OIL PASTEL, CHARCOAL AND COLLAGE ON A WOOD PANEL
Set in a wide St Ives frame (painted in Farrow & Ball Strong White) measuring 61 × 48cm (Artwork is 45 × 31cm)
