Inspired by the everyday things I find around the house – a dish of lemons and pears, an old terracotta pot with a newly planted ginger plant. These simple things have a magic of their own when painted in a loose, abstract way against a softly tonal background.
Layered with collage for added texture and a surprise glimpse of pattern, it has a naive charm that invites you in for a second look.
