ENGLISH ROSE
Inspired by the glorious summer roses that bloom all summer long, this painting started life intuitively, as most of my paintings do, in a new limited palette of reds and pinks that was inspired by an abundance of blooms in my garden. Part of a series of three, all with abstract backgrounds, this one has my favourite, loosely drawn roses, picked out in white. How glorious they all look when hung together as a series, however, if space is an issue, each one works as a stand-alone painting too.
ACRYLIC
Set in a sleek grey frame measuring 33.5 x 33.5cm (unframed art measures: 20 x 20cm)

A new limited palette and abundant inspiration from my garden full of pink flowers - and this little series of three floral paintings takes off! Starting with a completely intuitive background of abstract pinks and reds, I chose my three favourite flower shapes from the garden to pick out in white. This one is the old fashioned English Rose, of which I have many. I love the way they look when you hang the three pictures together, it gives a beautiful synergy that would grace so many settings, both traditional and contemporary. Each original acrylic painting is first matted, and then framed in a neutral grey frame to let the colours really sing out.
