Red Jug and Tomatoes
I love to paint fast and loose, letting the paint strokes create texture on the canvas in an impressionistic way. This bold painting in acrylic, charcoal and oil pastels is inspired by a vivid red jug that I picked up at a flea market many years ago. The green plate is one I brought back from a trip to Barbados. I love how strong these two complementary colours are together on the palette.
This impressionist painting comes set in a classic St Ives frame, but I’ve shown an option with a narrow black frame here for those who like that look (scroll across).
ACRYLIC, CHARCOAL AND OIL PASTEL ON A CRADLED PANEL
Set in a wide St Ives frame (painted in Farrow & Ball Strong White) it measures 66 × 66cm (artwork 50 × 50cm)
