Starting life as an abstract colour study, this painting is one of a small series that got hi-jacked into being an abstract landscape instead! Blame it on the heat of this summer, and my planned trip to Cornwall. It got me dreaming of beaches. Only one way to do that - the palette knife! My favourite tool for carving out richly textured swoops of paint. The series includes hidden coves, windswept dunes, views over the water, and gaily coloured beach huts - all individual little works of art that will work beautifully together, too.
