A fresh look at still life in slightly abstract form. I found this jug in an antique shop and really couldn’t afford it at the time, so I photographed it, knowing I would refer back to its beautiful elongated shape in some future painting. This is that painting!
The vessel itself was actually in copper, but a little artistic license in the studio and it has found a new persona. I love the soft, light palette with its layers of texture, pops of orange, and the strong stripes that accentuate the lines of the jug.

Large paintings can be crated as a bespoke service, if you require this service, please email me directly. If you live near to Stamford or Grantham I can personally deliver it for free, or we can arrange for you to pick-up the piece in person at my studio.
