NEW! Whitby Ran

£270.00

One of my favourite places growing up was Whitby on the east coast, where they serve, arguably, the best fish and chips ever. This painting was conceived on my last trip there this summer. Walking along the promenade, I noticed that the rippling water was distorting the reflections of the boats, and especially the rigging from the replica of Captain Cook’s ‘The Endeavour’ which is moored in the harbour. I just had to capture that moment on my phone camera, before the sun moved and the image was lost. It’s one of those moments that I feel compelled to paint the moment I get home!

ACRYLIC, COLLAGE, INK & OIL PASTEL ON CRADLED WOOD PANEL
Set in a float frame measuring 34cm x 34cm
(artwork measures 30cm x 30 cm)
